D Y Patil deemed to be University School of Medicine was established in the year 1989 by Hon Dr. D. Y. Patil the Founder President of the D Y Patil Group, with the vision and dream of making DYPSOM an institute that plays a crucial role in shaping students to become pioneers in the field of medicine. Located in the heart of Navi Mumbai, DYPSOM is a center of teaching, research and learning for more than 2,000 students . The Central Library spread over an area of 4000 sq. mt. is accessible 24/7, providing the students and faculty with over 20,000 text materials, online journals, in addition to Internet facilities. The amphitheatre Lectures Halls provide the most conducive atmosphere for focused learning. The classrooms are designed to incorporate and integrate audio- visual teaching aids for presentations, CMEs and lectures. DYPSOM has piloted comprehensive educational models, newly developed curricula for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by this institute. D. Y. Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai was felicitated for Providing Facilities at the 30th Maharashtra State Police Games- January 2018 The campus also houses one of it’s kind Medical Simulation Laboratory that has high fidelity patient mannequins, surgical simulator, diagnostic ultrasound simulation with augmented reality to train medical students and professionals to become proficient in their skills and techniques. Around 700 undergraduate and postgraduate students are trained each month under the various programs conducted.
